Although my education, career, and portfolio fall more into the category of Visual Arts or Visual Communication, I also have a passion for composing digital music and often use my own music in animation, video and multimedia content. The selections below were composed using GarageBand. I only use GarageBand’s pre-built loops sparingly and prefer to compose my own custom percussions / beats and melodies. I regularly compose with multi-track construction, use of the automation controls, and extensive use of the smart control panels. I’ve dropped eight samples below in assorted styles, but I have compiled hundreds of individual tracks in wide range of styles, sounds, and purposes:
Pool Dayz
A chill, uplifting combo of custom percussion, house chords, arps, synthesizer and bass.
The Seven Temples
Big custom percussions with echoes achieves cool syncopation, along with spiritual melodies.
Constellations
Mellow, captivating synthesizers and piano over chill percussions and deep bass tracks.
Kiseki
Means “miracle” in Japanese. Composite of multiple arpeggiators and custom beats.
Brave and Free
An inspirational anthem sound with custom beats, marimba, arpeggiators, dub bass and synth bells.
The Lunar Frontier
Phased synthesizers, custom beats, 60’s Western movie twang guitar, pumping bass and gentle bells.
Geo-Lunar Charms
Custom beats at a chill tempo with various reverb synthesizers, piano and flute
Astronauts’ Obstacle Course
Fast-paced techno beats to blended synth melodies – adapted version was used in the animated project What it’s Like Being Santa’s Reindeer (link goes to training camp scene).
